How to set up A2P verification

Purpose

This process ensures all businesses sending SMS messages through the CRM are properly registered for A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging compliance, including brand registration, campaign registration, consent documentation, and required policy pages.


Step 1 — Navigate to or Create Sub-Account

  1. Open the CRM (Agency View)

  2. Either:

  • Navigate to the existing client sub-account, OR

  • Create a new sub-account if one does not already exist


Step 2 — Purchase a Local Phone Number

  1. Inside the client sub-account, go to:

Settings → Phone Numbers

  1. Click Purchase Number

  2. Select a local Maryland number (410 or 443 area code)

  3. Complete the purchase

This number will be used for SMS messaging and A2P registration.


Step 3 — Begin A2P Registration

Navigate to:

Settings → Phone Numbers → A2P Registration

Start the registration process.


Step 4 — Complete Brand Profile Information

Business Profile Requirements

  • Is the business located in the US or Canada? → Select Yes

Business Details

  • Legal Business Name

  • Business Type

    • LLC

    • Sole Proprietorship

  • EIN Number

  • Business Industry

  • Business Email

  • Business Website URL

  • Business Region of Operations

    • USA & Canada (select unless otherwise specified)

  • Business Address


Step 5 — Authorized Contact Information

Enter:

  • Full Name

  • Email Address

  • Personal Phone Number

  • Job Position

This must be an authorized representative of the business.


Step 6 — Select Brand Type

Choose low volume as the brand registration type:

Low Volume Standard

  • EIN required

  • Multiple phone numbers allowed

  • Up to 6,000 segments per day


Step 7 — Campaign Registration Details

Campaign Use Case Description

Use the following structure:

This campaign sends appointment confirmation and reminder messages to customers once they have booked an appointment with [Business Name] on the website and opted in to receive promotional and notification SMS from [Business Name].


Sample Message Templates

Sample Message #1

Hi John! This is Jessica from [Business Name].
Our appointment for July 20 at 11:00 AM is confirmed.
Please reach out to [Business Phone #] if you need to reschedule.
Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Sample Message #2

Hi Lisa! This is Jessica.
We are confirming your appointment tomorrow at 9 AM.
Reply STOP to cancel.


Step 8 — Consent Collection Method

Explain how users opt-in.

Use:

End users opt-in by visiting [Business Booking Link] and filling in their details. Users check a box to receive notifications and promotional messages to provide consent.

Additionally, end users can text START to [Business Phone Number].


Opt-In Confirmation Message

You have successfully opted-in to receive notification and promotional SMS from [Business Name].
Please reply STOP if you need to opt-out in the future.


Step 9 — Required Compliance Pages

Before submission, confirm the business website includes:

Privacy Policy Page

Must include:

  • SMS data protection language

  • Statement that opt-in data is not shared

  • Opt-out instructions

  • Message frequency disclosure

  • Carrier disclaimer

(Use the approved privacy policy template.)


Terms of Service Page

Must include:

  • SMS program description

  • STOP / HELP instructions

  • Carrier liability disclaimer

  • Message & data rate disclosure

  • TCPA compliance statement

(Use the approved Terms template.)


Step 10 — Submit Registration

  1. Review all information for accuracy

  2. Submit A2P registration

  3. Monitor approval status

Approval may take several days.


Final Notes

  • EIN is required for standard registration

  • Consent method must match website behavior

  • Policies must be live before submission

  • Incorrect or incomplete submissions may result in rejection
